Early Help Offer

At Holy Souls School, we recognise the challenges that families face in day-to-day life. There may be times when you need extra help and support. If this is the case, our door is always open for you to come and talk to us.

Early Help is a pathway to supporting you and your child when they may need further support or guidance. Providing early help to our pupils and families means we can improve outcomes for children, families, and communities, providing support as soon as a problem emerges.

In order to support in the right way, we work with you to identify what are you worried about, what is working well and what needs to happen. The information you share with us might be used to form a ‘family plan’, this will help us to identify what the needs are and the best way support you and your child appropriately.

Early Help can support children and their families in many different ways. Some examples are:

  • Parenting and behaviour support.
  • Loss and bereavement.
  • Children who are caring for a family member.
  • Children who may not want to attend school.
  • Children who have special educational needs (SEND).
  • Financial/housing issues.
  • Children with parents/carers misusing drugs or alcohol.
  • Domestic Abuse support.
  • Mental Health support.

School can offer support as the first port of call and discuss the most appropriate pathway of support to follow.

Mrs Kielstra (Lead DSL) leads the Pastoral Team with Mr Mills (DSL), Mrs McTiernan (DSL) and Mrs Brown (DSL) available to help
